A higher SRI rating has proven to be cooler than surfaces with a lower rating (compared under the exact same solar energy exposure). With less solar energy being absorbed and transferred through the shingles, the home (or building) will experience more comfort in high temperatures and a reduced energy bill from air conditioning usage.
