More Than Just a Cool Roof
Pinnacle® Sun is more than just a cool roof. It reflects and emits the sun’s heat back to the sky instead of transferring it to the building below. Generally, lighter colored products are more reflective than darker colors, but color is not the only indicator of solar reflectance performance.
Roofing material surfaces with a higher SRI (Solar Reflective Index) will be cooler than surfaces with a lower SRI under the same solar energy exposure, especially on a sunny day (the higher the SRI number, the more reflective the shingle). Using materials with higher SRI values can enhance building occupant comfort and reduce air conditioning use.
